Lucci Music Lessons:

What is the Lucci Music Experience?

We believe at Lucci Music that private instruction is only half of the musical endeavor. So, we have incorporated the full experience to give our students a greater understanding of music, their instrument, and playing with other instruments. This experience includes private instruction, performance lessons, group classes, clinics, Lucci Music Band practices, and vocal recitals.

What types of lessons do you offer?

Private Instruction: From guitar lessons, piano lessons, voice lessons, drum lessons, violin lessons, to studio recording & sound engineering, gain the best in one-on-one instruction from our excellent staff who understands how to lead you to the results you are looking for. Private lessons are the minimal requirement for students to be included in the Lucci Music experience.

Performance Lessons: Experience Lucci Music with this unique program to Colorado Springs. Learn how to function in a healthy “band” environment on stage with students your similar level. Performance lessons consist of 2-5 students guided by music director Matt Lucci at the helm.

Group Classes: We provide a fun learning experience in group sessions. Bring a friend along or explore a new hobby for father/son lessons. Group lessons are also great for kids 9 and under to have fun and be accountable to peers.

Clinics: As an added benefit, our students are able to attend the wide subject range of clinics at Lucci Music school, Directed by Steve Barta (in-house), Matt Lucci (on tour), and hosted by Citadel Broadcasting radio and Guitar Center.

Practices: Another part of the Lucci Music experience is attending Lucci Music Band practice nights, and learn how the professionals function musically. Hosted by Citadel Broadcasting’s Peak 92.9, and Magic 98.9 FM.

Should I start just with private instruction?

Yes. Private instruction is vital to every student's musical portfolio, and is the beginning to any musical endeavor. As Lucci Music instructors, we can only share our abilities with you because we also had amazing mentors and lessons along the way. Our past endeavors amplify our current success.

What is the youngest age you take for lessons?

Students ages 5-8 we reccomend starting with piano lessons so they can gain the fundamental aspects of music and progress easily into another instrument from there. If your child is already learning another instrument then we can continue their education with private lessons on their instrument no problem.

We do not start students on voice lessons until ages 7-8 (with few exceptions.) It can be damaging to your child's vocal chords and development at such a young age. We suggest starting your child in piano lessons. This will allow them to learn notation, understand pitch, and train their ears in preperation for voice lessons.

What do I need to know to sign-up under a Premiere teacher?

Each Premiere teacher has different qualifications for accepting students depending on availability and style. However, the premiere teachers accept only dedicated and serious students generally no younger than 13 years of age. Basic credentials include a solid understanding of basic theory (diatonic/pentatonic scales, major/minor/seventh chords, circle of 5ths) and an ability to perform these basics on the instrument.

What is the cost of lessons?

We understand your desire to get the best price for the buck, and we don't blame you. That is why we have modest to full-on lesson packages for your needs. Weekly, every-other-week, hour or 40-min in length, along with available clinics, performance lessons, and other services we offer to make sure you have all the tools necessary to succeed with your musical goals.
