If you're looking for an overdrive pedal with character, you'll need some Moonshine. Running on 18 volts, the JHS Moonshine takes your guitar signal and gives it attitude. JHS started with a legendary OD pedal design, and massively tweaked it to create a versatile stompbox that will do you right no matter what your musical persuasion. Volume, Tone, and Drive knobs in concert with a 2-position Proof toggle give you everything from clean boost to amp-like low-gain breakup and crunch to girthy, saturated cranked-amp overdrive. The JHS Moonshine. Don't take the stage without it.
The most coveted vintage consoles and outboard gear weren't transparent. Au contraire. And that's the point behind the JHS Moonshine. Coloration is, in many cases, desirable - and, arguably, nowhere more so than in your guitar sound. Whether you're dialing in a little clean boost or you've got the Drive control dimed, Moonshine remains responsive to your touch and your guitar's volume control. But however you're using it, it's always characterful.Running on 18 volts for big tone
A big part of the Moonshine's sonic moxie stems from the fact that it's running on 18 volts. JHS, in their wisdom, fitted Moonshine with an internal charge pump that sucks the juice from your standard 9V adapter and converts it to a whopping 18. Kind of like taking a beefy rack unit and shoehorning it into a standard stompbox form factor. The result is enormous headroom, girthy low end, and killer punch. All good things.Moonshine: not just for guitar
The JHS Moonshine is an awesome guitar overdrive pedal, sure, but it's also great on bass and even keyboards. Pump up your bass signal with a dose of Moonshine for a killer tone with tube-like saturation and juicy harmonics. Jan Hammer used to plug his screaming synth leads through a cranked tube guitar amp, and of course today we have amazing virtual effects, but the good old stompbox is still a valid way to juice your keys with tubular warmth, beef, and fur. However you use Moonshine, you'll be delighted with its stellar performance.
